Hamdard University Bangladesh Observed the National Mourning Day-2017

On 13 August 2017 Hamdard University Bangladesh organized a discussion meeting on the National Mourning Day-2017 at its permanent campus at Hamdard Nagar, Gazaria, Munshiganj. On the occasion the Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Ghulam Murtaza, all Deans of the Faculties and  all Heads of the Departments, the Registrar Mr. Md. Lutfur Rahman, the Controller of Examinations  Mr. Md. Nurul Huda, all the Faculty members, Officers, Staffs and Students were  present. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof.  Md. Abdul Mannan PhD presided over the program.

The program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the Holy Geeta. 

The students from different faculties spoke on the implication of observing the National Mourning Day. They also gave speeches on Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s contribution and his dynamic leadership from the Language movement to the War of Liberation .

All speakers of the discussion meeting expressed their homage and profoundly remembered the Father of the Nation Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members who were brutally killed in the year of 1975. All speakers were unanimously acknowledged that without Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s leadership we would not be able to achieve independence.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan  briefly discussed the history and the origin of Bangladesh.  He spoke about the role and contribution of our father of the nation in achieving independence of Bangladesh.  He advised to the students that they should know the history of Bangladesh and should cherish the spirit of the War of Liberation in their heart to become true patriots.

The program ended with a special prayer for the departed souls of the martyrs and the prosperity of the country.
